Defending VA Veterans Health Care on D-Day

Last week, five-thousand protestors gathered on the Mall in Washington, D.C. under the banner of Unite for Veterans /Unite for America.

The crown included many former servicemembers, including some who belong to AFGE, NNU, National Federation of Federal Employees, and other unions. Speakers included vets like Sen. Tammy Duckworth (D-IL) and former Republican House member Adam Kinzinger (R-IL), who became a major Trump critic during his first term.

Thousands more participated in actions at 225 other locations around the country, including in vet-heavy red states like Alaska, Alabama, Florida, Georgia, North Carolina, Idaho, Kansas, and Kentucky.

Watch the full D.C. rally here, and read this great recap in The American Prospect from Gordon and Early on the state of VA activism.
